The US guitarist and singer, who died in December 2020, founded the band Mountain in 1969, and contributed significantly to the early development of hard rock and metal with his hard, distorted guitar sound. The 5 albums collected here are among West's best solo works, and were recorded with varying support from, among others, bassists Jack Bruce and Stanley Clarke, as well as guitarist Mick Jones (Foreigner), keyboardist Gary Wright (Spooky Tooth) and even Mick Jagger on rhythm guitar.
