Shakti, led by John McLaughlin, is currently on a world tour to celebrate its 50th anniversary. And the long-awaited, first studio album in 46 years is released.
The Shakti sound is still alive and well, playing to beautiful Indian rhythms! The band continues to challenge the boundaries of genres and new musical worlds while developing a beautiful sound that respects tradition. Powerful, dynamic, skillful interplay, beautiful unison passages, brilliant string work by violin and McLaughlin, and a spiritual ensemble featuring Zakir Husain's Rabra are a sight to behold.
