The English jazz bassist Dave Holland has over five decades an important part of the jazz scene. His performances range from solo performances to big bands. He has played with the greatest jazz musicians of all time. Including Miles Davis with whom he has recorded three albums as part of the rhythm section, who were all groundbreaking for the fusion jazz. For his latest album, Holland has with Kevon Eubanks (guitar), Craig Taborn (piano), Fender Rhodes and Eric Harland (drums) teamed - all masters of their craft. Each of the five musicians contributed his own compositions. So as a result, an electrifying album is created with an irresistible groove, envelops a new musical direction with the Netherlands. "Prism" leads the listener through many musical landscapes like the funky song "The Watcher" or "The Empty Chair", which captures the soul-blues of Jimi Hendrix.
