"Get Back Home" was recorded during Hooker's comeback in the 60s, it shows the bluesman in a solo performance, and so the subtleties of his work most clearly. The LP was recorded in France - apparently Hooker had a bit homesick, for the first song is called " Get Back Home In The USA "and describes in the boogie rhythm that was Hooker's trademark, detailed his return to the mother country as well as the joy. After this brief sunshine, however, turns the mood with the gloom of the slow blues "TB Is Killing Me" and the unbridled hopelessness in "When My First Wife Left Me" more known for spheres. Hooker has recorded this piece over the years often, but this is one of the best versions and forthright expresses deep shame and sorrow from. Hookers rough, biting guitar work was rarely better, "Chillen Boogie" even that recorded for the umpteenth time shines with unusual verve. using the six additional and strong bonus tracks is "Get Back Home" an excellent introduction to the sultry, threatening world of Hookers and a noble addition to the collection every hardcore fans.
