It is surprising how excellent Keb 'Mo's Cover ions fit nine classic protest and peace songs on "Peace ... Back By Popular Demand" into the current political milieu. In this album, the songs themselves are the stars, and Keb 'Mo' approaches wisely each of them quietly and cautiously by the embassies gives priority before a light soul-jazz background with just just enough spark in the interlude of the horns to to give the arrangement a little momentum. It is difficult to say anything about the selection of songs, but as a performer makes Mo 'rarely one of these songs to own behind each is crystal clear the memory of the original version. Obviously tries Mo 'here no means to get to number one of the charts, and his efforts to make this important songs in a new light is laudable. "Peace ... Back by Popular Demand" is not one of the great albums, but it has given us some important things to say, or to repeat in this case, and serves as a reminder that each era can make use of peace and deserves.
