MacLeod's dark singing and sparse guitar playing reminiscent of the country blues artists of the 1930s, although his lyrics have a more modern appeal. The tracks on Unmarked Road take the listener in prison, and at the same time disturbing; under its surface always seems to bubble a tremendous thing. This SACD is getting better, the more often it is heard. MacLeod is accompanied by bassist Jeff tower and the drummers Stefev Mugalian and Oliver Brown. On two titles of the blues musician's solo to hear.
About AudioQuest Music
The blues label AudioQuest Music was founded in the late 1980s and continues today under the name Sledgehammer Blues at Valley Entertainment. Mission of the responsible producer Joe Harley was to produce the best audiophile recordings on the technical level of the time. They used this analog technology with tailored tube electronics and avoided any noise reduction, compression, EQ and limiter. A characteristic feature of the result is the realistic, spontaneous sound of the recordings, which lacks any overproduction. Since it also invited the most talented artists to recordings include the title of AudioQuest Music still one of the most interesting blues recordings that are to have on the audiophile market. For Bernie Grundman SACDs has digitized and mastered the new analog tapes.
